Beanie Helmets

Beanie Motorcycle Helmets, also known as novelty helmets, and DO NOT meet DOT standards. These helmets are generally made from either thermo-injected plastic, fiberglass, and sometimes carbon fiber. Beanie Motorcycle Helmets are made from a thin shell and do not have the foam necessary inside to protect your head properly in the event of an accident.

The construction of these beanie helmets is usually an inner pad placed in the crown of the helmet which is for comfort purposes only...not safety purposes. Covering that foam is felt or another fabric that not only makes the helmet more comfortable to wear, but also makes it look good. Most novelties, or beanies these days come with a Y-Strap and have a quick release buckle on them. In the past American manufacturers made all different strap variations, but that business got outsourced because it's more cost effective to build helmets overseas. Unfortunately, that was the end of American manufacturers on the wholesale end.
